Original German WWII Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Helmet Q62- This original German WWII Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Helmet, crafted by Q (Quist) and sized 62. Appearing to have been unissued, it bears minor rust spots on the exterior of the Luftwaffe blue textured paint.
The 2nd model Luftwaffe decal remains approximately 95% intact, with only very minor chips and scrapes acquired over the years.
Internally, the helmet features an aluminum-reinforced liner dated 1940 and sized 55. Unfortunately, the leather has suffered from exposure to spilled substances, resulting in dryness and stiffness, with some damage to the liner fingers. Regrettably, the original drawstring is missing.
Although retaining the original leather chinstrap, it exhibits signs of dryness, partial cracking, and a broken tip on the long end. Despite these imperfections, the helmet remains in good condition and displays admirably. Overall, this Luftwaffe M40 helmet makes a striking addition to any collection.
